1814 are a 7-piece reggae band formed by Patu Colbert guitar/vocals with sons, Shaun on drums and Jimmy on bass in 2004 while playing in a small church. “We were supporting community events around Northland which gave us the opportunity to play our own material and it sort of started from there”. The lineup included Darren Katene lead vocal, Katherine Te Haara–Atama vocals, Reuben Heger sax, Erana Jones keys and Tony Harrison on sound.
